Having practiced karate for the past 15 years and taught for the past 7 years, Ross has achieved the following grades in Shukokai and Shotokan karate

Achieved 1st Dan in Shukokai Karate - June 2005
Achieved 1st Dan in Shotokan Karate - June 2006
Achieved 2nd Dan in Shukokai Karate - August 2008
Achieved 2nd Dan in Shotokan Karate - August 2008
Achieved 3rd Dan in Shukokai Karate - April 2016
Achieved 4th Dan in Shukokai Karate - March 2022

Ross began his training in 2000 under the instruction of Sensei Mandie Read until 2005. During this time he trained regularly with the Shukokai Karate Federation National Squad and competed in their National competitions winning gold, silver and bronze medals.
In 2005 Ross moved to Germany and began training Shotokan karate under the instruction of Sensei Brian Hall of Gakushuin Karate International. During this time he competed in Invitational, National and International competitions.
In 2007 Ross took over Gütersloh Karate club in Germany and became a Sensei. Instructing at the only English karate club in the area Ross has taught large numbers from a very young age. He organised his first inter-club championships involving English clubs in Germany, German clubs and participants traveling from the UK.
In 2010 Ross moved back to the UK and shortly after re-joined Sensei Mandie Read to continue his Shukokai training. Ross has now opened a second club called Nine Locks Shukokai Club under the Dudley Shukokai Karate Association.
In 2015 Ross was nominated to be the Safeguarding Officer for All-Styles Karate Alliance due to being a former Police Officer and holding a BSc (Hons) Policing. Ross is also involved in Safeguarding situations within the school where he currently works.
